Cabela's preps for sidewalk party, giveaways ahead of Black Friday
One of the stores that chose to stay closed on Thursday night is Cabela's in Bristol, Virginia.
But they're prepping to open their doors at 5 a.m. on Black Friday. And as of 6 p.m. on Thursday, they already had people waiting in line to score some deals.
Before opening, Cabela's will be hosting a sidewalk party for everyone waiting in line. It will include free coffee, donuts and hot chocolate, along with a DJ playing music, games and lots of prizes.
The first 600 people will get a prize, ranging from gift cards to free guns.
News 5 talked to the first people in line. They said they got there 12 hours before the store opens.
"We really appreciate our customers and the fact that they come out and stay in the cold and they deserve to be treated special," Cabela's retail marketing manager Michelle Settle said.
Cabela's sidewalk party starts at 1 a.m. Doors open at 5 a.m.
