Unicoi County suspect in custody
Update: Unicoi County Sheriff Mike Hensley says 38-year-old Jason Garlon Hurst was arrested without incident around 7:30 pm Saturday night. He was arrested in stolen clothes. Hurst is charged with theft, felony evading arrest, aggravated burglary and burglary.
News 5 has learned from Unicoi County Sheriff Mike Hensley that Jason Garlon Hurst is now in custody. Hurst fled police in Ernestville, North Carolina and may have broken into a house on Old Asheville Highway.
He was the subject of a manhunt on Friday night through Saturday afternoon. Hurst was also suspected of stealing a car in Madison County, North Carolina. Previously, Hurst had been arrested for arson.
