Eagle Scouts rebuild playground at Children's Advocacy Center
BRISTOL, Va. - Some scouts were doing handy work in the area on Saturday, by fixing up a playground in dire need.
Eagle Scout Devin Roberts, and Scout Troop Three, were helping rebuild the playground at the Children's Advocacy Center in Bristol, Virginia. The old wooden playground burned down in June earlier this year.
These renovations are part of Roberts' advocacy project, and he said the changes are going to make the playground even better. The playground includes a brand new metal tower, swing-set and rock climbing wall.
"I want to give back to my community, this is a great place to live and Boy Scouts has done a lot for me," said Roberts. "I just love giving back and helping people, so I think this is a great way to do it."
Another member of Troop Three will be building birdhouses at Steele Creek Park for his project in the next couple weeks.
