Johnson City job fair helps to connect veterans
Several companies from the Tri Cities were participants in a special job fair Wednesday that targeted the region's veterans.
The Washington County American Job Center held workshop sessions and a job fair where veterans learned interview skills and about services they can receive.
Organizers say it's about connecting employers with good employees.
"We, as an organization, we just are very supportive of our veterans. We're really proud of the area that we live in and the folks that serve and we want to be of maximum service to those people," Northeast TN Reconnect Coordinator April Shaffner said.
"I'm hoping to receive a full time job with benefits and opportunities to advance in that job," veteran Joe Malone added.
