Two children taken into DCS custody after parents found dead in Washington Co., Tenn.

Two children are in the state's custody after their parents are found dead at a home in Washington County, Tennessee.

Sheriff Ed Graybeal said a friend was checking on the pair at their mobile home on Friendship Court around 7 p.m., Monday. That's when the friend found them and called 911.

Investigators are still trying to piece together what happened. The TBI, medical examiner, and emergency crews also spent the evening on scene. Police are releasing very limited details about the victims and the children.

"It was a 6-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl," Sheriff Graybeal said. "They are both fine. One of my investigators that works with children got DCS here and they are safe and in DCS custody at this time."

News 5 is expecting to learn more details, Tuesday morning. Sheriff Graybeal said the public is not in danger, but anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's department.
