Virginia State Univ. put on lockdown after shooting

PETERSBURG, Va. - A day of fun and fellowship turned into a campus-wide lock down for the attendees of the Virginia State homecoming.

Officials say the incident happened around 8:30 p.m. Saturday night on the VSU campus in Petersburg, Va.

That is where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound on Hayden St.

His injury was non-life threatening and he is expected to be okay.

The campus was quickly put on lockdown-- sending out tweets for all to avoid the area.

It has since been lifted.
