Weekend Drive: Appalachian Showcase
Created in 2004, the Appalachian showcase allows artists to DISPLAY their WORK and allows you to bring a UNIQUE piece home with you.
Bonnie Aker says they have books and music, jewelry homemade locally and rugs, and textiles made in Eastern KY.
The showcase is located in the Clapboard house, a staple in Wise County since the late 70s.
Each of the items is sourced locally- from about a 150 mile radius from MORE THAN 70 different craftsmen and artists.
So the next time you're in Wise County, make a pit stop - and bring a piece of Appalachia home with you from your Weekend Drive.
