Wife of ESPN's Chris Berman killed in crash

The wife of long-time ESPN commentator and show host Chris Berman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon.

Katherine Berman, 67, was traveling on Route 64 in Woodbury, Connecticut just after 2 p.m. when her car collided with a vehicle driven by Edward Bertulis, 87, who was also killed in the crash, according to our sister affiliate WVIT.

She was a teacher and the couple had been married for 33 years. The New York Post reported that Berman was in New York attending a Mets game Tuesday afternoon when he was informed about the crash.

Berman began his career at ESPN in 1979 and recently stepped down from anchoring the network's NFL flagship Sunday show in January.
