Emergency techs from Sullivan, Greene Co. headed to help with Irma relief


A total of 151 health professionals and emergency personnel, including workers from the Tri Cities region, have been deployed to Florida to assist local, state and federal officials in medical and search missions following Hurricane Irma

A report issued Friday from the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency and Department of Military said technicians and paramedics from Greene, Sullivan and Washington are included in the teams being sent.

TEMA began assembling response teams on Wednesday and the majority of workers will leave the state for Florida on Saturday.
