Jonesborough mayor steps down after almost 10 years
After nearly ten years as mayor of Jonesborough, Kelly Wolfe resigned from the position at Monday night's Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting.
Wolfe told News 5 that balancing his company, Wolfe Development, and the mayor's job was becoming a challenge.
"My wife and I are enjoying with the grace of God, a little bit of prosperity now," Wolfe said.
Wolfe was elected in 2008, during the recession. He said there is a lot of difference between now and then.
"I have no regrets and nothing but the best wishes for my town that I love above all. I intend to stay involved in the community and town affairs."
The Board of Mayor and Aldermen Chuck Vest will fill the mayor's seat.
Former alderman Adam Dixon was added to the board to fill Vest's position.
