THP: One dead in Chuckey, Tennessee crash
UPDATE, 5:28 p.m.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol has released the name of the victim killed in Monday afternoon crash in Chuckey, Tennessee on Erwin Highway.
A preliminary investigation report says Jennifer Leonard, 34, of Erwin was operating a vehicle that pulled into the path of a box truck just after 10 a.m. and was hit head-on. Leonard was pronounced dead at the scene.
A total of four vehicles were involved in the wreck and a passenger in one of the other vehicles was transported to an area hospital for the treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
One person is dead following a multi-vehicle crash in Washington County, Tennessee on Monday afternoon.
Police confirmed that the person, whose name has not been released, suffered fatal injuries in the wreck on Erwin Highway near the State Route 353 (Bailey Bridge Road) intersection, according to traffic data provided by the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
Preliminary information indicates the crash involved two vehicles and a tractor-trailer and occurred just after 10 a.m.
TDOT estimates the road will be closed in that area until 4 p.m. Monday afternoon.
