CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A man police say tried to rob a Forest Park convenience store was on the receiving end of a beatdown, according to our sister station WKRC.

He's now being held on a high bond. Andre Young was arraigned on Tuesday.

Police say it was Young seen on surveillance video attempting to rob a Speedway station on Northland Boulevard on Oct. 23. He picked up a beer and took it to the register.

Investigators say Young pulled a box cutter and told the clerk, "We can do this the easy way or the hard way." The clerk chose the hard way.

The clerk said Young jumped the counter but he shoved Young back. They both met around the counter where the clerk punched Young in the face, knocking him to the floor. He then called 911.

Police say Young robbed the same Speedway with a baseball bat in 2005 and was sent to prison for that crime.

A judge had no sympathy for Young's injuries and ordered him held on $175,000 bond.
