It started as a joke. Now, it has become the most retweeted Tweet ever posted on Twitter. And yes, Carter gets his nuggets.

Over a month ago, Nevada teenager Carter Wilkerson decided to post a challenge on Twitter to get the most retweets in order to receive a lifetime supply of chicken nuggets from fast food chain Wendy's.

The previous record, 3.4 million, was held by talk show host Ellen DeGeneres featuring a star-studded selfie with photo bombs from Brad Pitt, Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper and others.

In celebration of the accomplishment, Wendy's is also donating $100,000 to the Dave Thomas Foundation- an organization started by the late restaurant founder that promotes adoption.

.@carterjwm is now the most retweeted tweet of all-time. That's good for the nuggets, and $100k to @DTFA. Consider it done. #nuggsforcarter pic.twitter.com/k6uhsJiP4E
