Proposed bill would further restrict cell phone use while driving in Virginia
Virginia’s moving to further restrict the use of cellphones while driving.
It’s already illegal to text while driving. Now that would expand under a bill advanced yesterday by the Senate’s Transportation Committee.
It would ban the use of cellphones while driving unless it’s specifically designed and used hands free.
State Senator Bill Carrico, a Republican from Grayson County, was among those voting “no” in a 9 to 4 committee vote.
