A program to help needy students is underway once again this summer.

Operation School Bus is put together by Seasons of Hope, a non-profit that works with families that don't meet the usual guidelines for assistance from other agencies. This program works specifically with teens to help them not feel embarrassed at school.

Organizers need donations including school supplies, backpacks, clothing, and toiletries.

"You get picked on so much if you don't have the right things, and, although unfortunate, it does happen," Seasons of Hope board member Jessica Moore said. "And so by 6th grade, they're in middle school, they're starting to see that they don't have what other people have. They may not even have a pair of shoes without holes in them. So we come alongside those children."

If you'd like to help, there are drop off locations at Owl's Nest, Rose Hill Weddings, Summit Leadership, and the Starbucks across from the Mall at Johnson City. You can also visit the Seasons of Hope website for more information.

All the supplies will be handed out on July 29.
