Bays Mountain Park getting some road repairs
Repairs along Bays Mountain Road in Kingsport may hold up traffic over the next few weeks.
Park officials tell News 5 that part of the road leading in to the park will be down to one lane.
With this nice weather as many as 400 cars go in and out in one day. That, plus natural erosion has caused the road shoulder to weaken.
"When you have a mountain road, certainly you have mountain springs that flow underneath. That's probably going to be one of those things that, you know, through different repairs and what not can eventually be addressed, but certainly not all at once," Bays Mountain Park Manager Rob Cole said.
Cole says this work should be finished in about three weeks.
