Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency crews are searching for a missing person on South Holston Lake.

The agency's spokesperson, Matt Cameron, tells News 5 that James Matthew Ragan, 41, of Bristol, Tennessee, was dropped off to go camping Thursday around lunchtime. Ragan is originally from Maryland, but is living in Bristol, Tenn.

TWRA will be using an remote operated vehicle to assist area rescue squads in the underwater search Sunday.

His girlfriend hadn't heard from him and reported him missing Saturday morning. An overturned canoe was found about 600 feet upstream from the 421 bridge near Laurel Marina.

The South Holston Rescue Squad, TWRA and emergency management crews have been searching the water.

We're told Ragan's campsite was found untouched.

TWRA will be using an remote operated vehicle to assist area rescue squads in the underwater search tomorrow.
