BRMC board members got a first hand look at a nurses day

Bristol Regional Medical Center board members walked a mile in nurses shoes today.

It's part of National Nurses Week.

Board members shadowed the nurses as a way to learn what they do on a day to day basis.

We talked to board chairman Chris Lee.

He said he watched a heart catheterization procedure, and says he had a lot of questions, but learned a lot.

Lee says the most important thing is for the board members to be out where the patients are being treated to make sure they're receiving the best care possible.

"We look at a hospital you just see a big sterile environment, but there are people and lives that are going on. Behind it really boils down to is giving exceptional service with exceptional people," Lee said.
