A Hawkins County homeowner held a home invader at gunpoint until deputies arrived on the scene, a police report said.

Brock Alan Ward, 24, of Surgoinsville, is charged with one count of aggravated burglary and vandalism following his arrest on Sunday, the report said.

Investigators said that Ward used a propane tank sitting on the homeowner's porch to bust out a window and gain entry into the house located on River Road in Church Hill. A woman inside the house was awakened by the crash and had her husband check out the noise when he spotted Ward in the kitchen window.

The suspect reportedly kept yelling "don't shoot" while the homeowner pointed his shotgun, according to the report.

Ward also told officers that he had used meth prior to breaking into the home, the report said. He was scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Sessions Court in Rogersville.
