Collectables for kids

GRAY, Tenn - Toys, comic books, video games and other collectables are up for sale today to benefit kids.

The annual Children's Miracle Network Toy and Hobby show returned to the Appalachian Fairgounds.

The event is taking place from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Admission is $5 for anyone 13 and older.

It gives people of all ages the opportunity to get their hands on rare and fun finds.

The money raised benefits children getting care at Wellmont Health System hospitals-- the regional affiliate for Children's Miracle Network.

"We've raised $60,000 over the years and that doesn't sound like much," said the event's promoter, Michael Stevens. "The Children's Miracle Network needs a lot of funding. It's a great cause. And medical equipment is expensive."

Wellmont officials say the proceeds are used for its pediatric, neonatal intensive care and emergency departments.
