Commission sends 3 nominees to Gov. Haslam for Sullivan County court vacancy
The Trial Court Vacancy Commission took a major step Monday toward replacing retiring Sullivan County Circuit Judge Jerry Beck.
The commission conducted interviews and narrowed the field down to three finalists from a field of applicants.
Gov. Bill Haslam will make the final decision. The finalists are Ashley Boyer of Bristol, Peter Filetti of Blountville and William Rogers of Kingsport.
The chosen nominee will serve until a special vacancy election in August 2018. At that point, whoever is elected will serve until the August 2020 county general election.
The position carries an annual salary of just over $170,000.
