Construction continues on Kingsport's Centennial Park
Centennial Park in Kingsport is starting to take shape with additions of entrances and construction of the fountain.
Work is progressing on the park that is meant to commemorate the 100th year of Kingsport.
One noticeable feature coming along is the center piece fountain. Assistant City Manager Chris McCart says when it's finished things will start progressing more quickly to the finishing touches.
"The entrances are wrapping up now. The brickwork has been done. So, that is kind of helping to give you an idea of what the boundaries of the park look like. Then after that we'll really start seeing the special elements come together and really make it a unique downtown pocket park," McCartt said.
McCartt says over half of the $1.5 million cost of the park is being provided by donations from citizens and businesses.
