Crews will scale back the search effort for a missing man on South Holston Lake
After more than a week of searching South Holston Lake for a missing man, crews are scaling back search efforts this week.
Matt Ragan has been missing since February 9th, after he was dropped off for a fishing and camping trip.
This weekend, more than a dozen rescue squads from around our area volunteered to help in the search, with no luck.
Spokesman for the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, Matt Cameron, sent News 5 a statement. It says,
"We will continue to investigate the incident and file a preliminary boating accident report with the United States Coast Guard. TWRA is very appreciative of the outpouring of support from area emergency medical services, fire and rescue crews, and other volunteer organizations who have spent hundreds of hours and an abundance of resources in search of the victim. Our hearts go out to the victim's family and friends and we pray for an eventual recovery to bring them some closure."
