Elizabethon High students help with a Habitat for Humanity project
A Navy veteran in Elizabethton will soon have a home to call his own thanks to the help of Habitat for Humanity.
Steve Messina has been building his new home since July.
A group of students from the Bartleby program at Elizabethton High School assisted crews with the project on Thursday.
Messina says he appreciates all of the volunteers who are helping to make his dream come true.
"The enthusiasm is there. They're willing to work and they work hard. We're glad to have them and you know, they're helping me make a dream come true, home ownership," Messina said.
The volunteers hope to finish the home by Veterans Day.
