Elizabethton kids get a taste of colonial life
Elizabethton fourth grade students spent part of their day Monday learning outside- getting a first- hand look at life during the revolution.
Sycamore Shoals State Park in Elizabethton invited them to experience the commemoration of the March to Kings Mountain, a turning point in the American Revolution.
The kids visited different stations around the park learning about different aspects of colonial life.
"We've been learning about some of the games they played. One was called Gracie or something," said student Sophie Peterson. "It's been cool coming here and just how we've been learning about it," added classmate Jackson Buckles.
The actual battle of King's Mountain was fought on October 7, 1780.
