Hampton woman arrested on meth, child endangerment charges
A Hampton, Tennessee, woman has been arrested on numerous charges following a year-long investigation, according to Carter County Sheriff Dexter Lunceford.
According to Sheriff Lunceford, officers with the Carter County Sheriff's Department and Elizabethton Police Department executed a search warrant on Carl Smith Road in Hampton. Donie Joline Hernandez was arrested.
Authorities said numerous undercover purchases by officers with both agencies of crystal meth were made during the investigation. Hernandez, formerly of Coal Chute Road in Elizabethton, had recently moved to Carl Smith Road within the past few weeks.
Hernandez is facing the following charges:
(1) Four Counts of Sale of Schedule II Narcotics (Crystal Methamphetamine) (2) Child Endangerment / Neglect (3) Two Counts of Possession of Schedule IV Narcotics and Possession of a Legend Drug (4) Maintaining a Dwelling where Narcotics are Manufactured or Sold (5) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Two young children were also removed from the home by the Department of Children's Services. Hernandez is being held in the Carter County Jail on a $37,500 bond. Sheriff Lunceford added Hernandez has had numerous prior drug-related convictions.
