Recent court records indicate a former youth Sunday School teacher and deacon at a Hawkins County, Tennessee church accused of asking a young Michigan girl for nude photos plans to plead guilty in federal court next month.

Mark Curtis Adams, 55, of Mount Carmel has agreed to a plea deal with federal prosecutors in U.S. District Court in Greeneville on one count of using interstate commerce to persuade, induce or entice a minor to engage in sexual activity, according to documents obtained by News 5.

The guilty plea is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 1, the report says.

Prosecutors said Adams used a phone app called Kik to communicate with a juvenile from Auburn Hills, Michigan. They said he was "masquerading" as a 17-year-old named Tyler Boone and the child's mother contacted police when she became concerned with the sexually explicit nature of the messages.

Adams reportedly sent multiple messages to what he thought was the girl's account on March 22. The report said he was actually chatting with an undercover officer. Police were then able to trace the I.P. address accessed by Adams' Kik account. Those addresses were Adams' home and Eastman Chemical Company, the document said.

Adams admitted to receiving nude photos from other underage girls but did not know their identities. An Associated Press report last summer said the church issued a statement that concluded none of the church's youth were among the victims.
