Huge freshman class propels ETSU fall semester enrollment

A large incoming class of freshmen along with hikes in dual enrollment and graduate school students has resulted in another huge student body for East Tennessee State University.

A report issued Monday showed a total enrollment of 14,606 students at the Johnson City university for the fall 2017 semester including an 8.7 percent jump in freshman and a nearly 4 percent jump in the number of graduate studies students.

Overall, the campus is hosting 321 more students than one year ago, the report said, along with an increased number of transfers.
