Johnson City man charged with aggravated burglary
A Johnson City man is facing charges following an overnight incident at an apartment on Cherry Street.
According to authorities, officers responded around 1:45 a.m. Friday. Officers spoke with the victim who said he heard a knock on his door and when he answered a man, entered his apartment without permission. The victim added he advanced toward him in a threatening manner causing him to back up in his kitchen. The victim then grabbed a knife for self-defense and told his roommate to call 911. The suspect left the apartment before officers arrived, but was arrested nearby.
Michael Parr, 27, was arrested and charged with aggravated burglary and public intoxication. He is being held in the Washington County Detention Center on a $20,500 bond. His arraignment is scheduled for Friday at 10:30 a.m. in Washington County General Sessions Court.
