Johnson City police: Highly intoxicated homeowner stabs guest
A Johnson City man is behind bars after police say he was highly intoxicated and stabbed another man in the arm on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Johnson City police, Phillip Stanley was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. At around 4:15 p.m., officers responded to Spring Street in reference to an unwanted guest. Dispatch advised all people at the house were highly intoxicated and the homeowner wanted someone to leave.
The victim removed his jacket and revealed a single stab wound to his left arm. The victim was able to tell police that the homeowner, Phillip Stanley, "went crazy and stabbed him." EMS transported the victim to the hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening wound.
Stanley was taken to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held on a $50,000 bond. His arraignment is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Washington County General Sessions Court.
