Johnson City police are searching for a man who they say robbed a convenience store early Friday morning.

Johnson City detective Mike Adams told News 5 that a man walked into the Roadrunner in the area of South Roan Street and Bonita Drive at 5 a.m. Friday and demanded money.

The clerk gave the man an undetermined amount of money and he left on foot.

Police said the suspect is black, about 6 feet tall with a thin build, was wearing a ski mask, a navy blue jacket and a black shirt. He appeared to be carrying an object in his right hand that appeared to be a long weapon of some sort but was covered in cloth.

Detectives found the ski mask about a block away from the store. If you have any information about this, call the Johnson City Police Department at 423-434-6000.
