A 17-year-old juvenile has been arrested in connection with the old General Mills property fire in Johnson City from Sept. 25.

Investigators arrested the juvenile Thursday on charges of arson and criminal trespassing. Officers responded to the building on the night of Sept. 25 in reference to an unauthorized person being on the property. While clearing the building, officers found the juvenile inside the abandoned property.

Within minutes, officers saw flames exiting the third floor of the building. A joint investigation was launched by the Johnson City police and fire departments which led to the arrest.

The juvenile was taken to the Upper East Juvenile Detention Center. A hearing will be set in Johnson City Juvenile Court at a later date.
