Kingsport man accused of stabbing another man

A man is behind bars following accusations that he stabbed another man at the Pinecrest Apartment complex on Lynda Lane in Kingsport on Thursday.

According to Kingsport police, officers were called to Indian Path Medical Center in reference to a man seeking treatment for apparent stab wounds to his forearms and back. Officers spoke with the victim, who said he went to the apartment to check on his friend. The victim said his friend's boyfriend, Shannon Bowlin, was at the apartment.

Officers said the victim and Bowlin got into an argument which is when Bowlin stabbed him. The victim went to his mother's house who took him to the hospital.

Authorities went to the apartment complex and didn't find Bowlin, but saw what looked like blood droplets in the doorway. Authorities found Bowlin in the driver's seat of a Jeep about three and a half hours later at North Plaza Package Store. He was ordered out of the car, but he refused to follow instructions, authorities said.

Police added that they had to take Bowlin to the ground to get him handcuffed. Officers also discovered he had an outstanding warrant out of Sullivan County for violation of probation.

Bowlin was taken to the Kingsport City Jail where he is being held on a $16,000 bond. He has been charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
