Long time Bristol business opens new facility

Most people are retired in their 80s, but one local man still shows up to his family business every day.

Shelbourne Wallace, 82, of Wallace Imports founded the business with his family. Tuesday, the car dealership officially opened its new facility on Volunteer Parkway with a ribbon cutting.

Wallace says they've had a dealership in that location for the past 55 years.

"We started on State Street in 1961 in a piece of rental property. Then we built, or bought a small piece of land here on Volunteer Parkway, which had just opened," Wallace said.

Including Shelbourne Wallace's dad, four generations of the Wallace family have been involved in the business.
