Man cut with knife, 2 Johnson City men charged with assault
Two Johnson City men are behind bars facing assault charges.
According to Johnson City police, 48-year-old Christopher Stout was charged with aggravated assault and 47-year-old Monte Powers was charged with DUI and simple assault.
Officers responded to W Holston Avenue to a fight. Witnesses said the victim was attacked by Powers. Powers's friend, Stout, got out of a vehicle while the two were fighting and threatened the victim with a knife. The victim received a cut to his hand as a result.
While at the Washington County Detetntion Center, police said that Powers and Stout got into a verbal argument which led to Powers elbowing Stout in the face.
Stout is being held on a $2,000 bond, and Powers is being held on a $5,000 bond. Both are due in court for arraignment at 1:30 p.m. Monday.
