Mumpower seeks $1.5M in negligence suit against truck company in I-81 crash
Just a month after suffering injuries in an interstate pile-up in Kingsport, former state representative Jason Mumpower files a negligence suit against the truck driver and trucking company.
Mumpower is seeking $1.5 million in damages in the suit filed in federal court in Greeneville. It says the tractor trailer truck driver from Florida was driving too fast when the truck slammed into the back of Mumpower's car, which had slowed or stopped for congestion on Interstate 81.
An employee of the Tennessee Comptroller's Office, Mumpower suffered a fractured arm and other injuries in the pile-up.
