Nashville fire captain charged with arson following TBI investigation

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is accusing a firefighter in Nashville of setting fire to his own home last month.

Jeffery Todd Neely, 48, was indicted by a Dickson County grand jury earlier this month and was arrested and charged Tuesday with one count of arson and insurance fraud, the TBI reported.

A joint investigation by the TBI and the Tennessee Fire Investigation Service revealed that Neely, a Captain with the Metro-Nashville Fire Department, reportedly set fire to his own home located in White Bluff on Sept. 7.
