Packing up some 'Lunchbox Love' for patients at Niswonger
Lots of love has been packed away and is now heading to Niswonger Children's Hospital in Johnson City.
It's the fifth time the Goforth family has organized this lunchbox love drive and now they're accepting donations again. They started the project after their son, Briggs, was diagnosed with cancer when he was 8 months old.
He's now an active little boy and doing great and they wanted to give back. In the past four years they've handed out more than 2,000 lunch bags.
They're filled with toys, games, coloring books and more- all in the hopes of bringing a smile to the kids' faces.
"No child likes to be in the hospital so a small prize is great for them. And also the doctors and nurses love them too cause it's something they can give out to make them happy and the doctors love for them to carry their medications to and from the hospital," said Briggs' mom Tiffany Goforth.
Lunch boxes are $20 and donations will be collected until Oct. 1.
