Police: Johnson City man assaults victim in hospital bathroom
Police arrested a Johnson City man after a woman was assaulted inside a hospital bathroom.
The report said investigators were notified of an assault in the emergency room waiting area of Johnson City Medical Center just after 7 p.m. Thursday and discovered a female victim who was bruised and bleeding from her nose.
She told police that Dalvin J. Stephens, 24, had followed her into the restroom and attacked her. The victim also told them that Stephens had tried to drown her in the bathtub at their home earlier in the day causing her to lose consciousness, the report said.
Stephens reportedly fled the hospital on foot and was later located at a home on Cedar Point Road where he was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated domestic assault.
He is being held in the Washington County Detention Center in Jonesborough on a $50,000 and is scheduled to be arraigned in Sessions Court on Friday.
