Police still need public's help finding killer
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Johnson City Police are still searching for the man who shot and killed a 22-year-old mother Monday night.
Police have confirmed Rebekah Thompson was seven to eight weeks pregnant, according to a preliminary autopsy. We first told you that yesterday based on information from close friends.
"We do have some information that we can't release at this time," Lt. Kevin Peters said. "We're hoping that it is driving us closer, but right now we still need the public's help."
Thompson was shot in the face outside public housing on John Exum Parkway.
Peters said witnesses described the killer as a black man, wearing a red and black hoodie, and driving a black car with tinted windows.
Thompson also went by her birth name, Stacy Magee.
