Republican governor candidate speaks in Johnson City
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - A Tennessee Republican candidate for governor made a stop in Johnson City Monday.
Bill Lee is taking a tour of Tennessee's 95 counties in 95 days.
He spoke at the Washington County, Tennessee Republican Women's meeting. He believes the state needs reforms in job creation, education, and criminal justice.
Lee said the tour is just as much about listening to people as it is about promoting his message.
"Actually the message is, part of it, is to just tell our story about what my heart is and my vision is for the state, but it's also to listen from them," Lee said. "That's part of what this 95 county tour is."
The Tennessee gubernatorial election will take place in 2018.
