'Senior Trees' go up around the region
A local organization is planning for Christmas and hoping to help seniors have a merry one.
"Be a Santa to a Senior," coordinated by Home Instead Senior Care, is dedicated to providing gifts to senior citizens who may not otherwise get any.
People can sponsor a senior by picking an ornament off one of the trees located around the region.
Each ornament features a Christmas list from a senior so people will know exactly what they want.
"Mostly it's simple stuff. something to make them feel good. We have a lot every year. People go above and beyond what's asked for on there and put candies and little gifts and things in with it," Home Instead Senior Care owner Rick Regen said.
Senior trees can be found at senior centers, Chi-fil-A's, HMG locations, along with many other places around the region.
