Serious crash in Hawkins County shuts down roadway
UPDATE, 5:10 p.m.
A report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol has identified the man killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Hawkins County.
A preliminary rundown says Terry A. Pearson, 49, of Rogersville, was at the intersection of Main Street and Highway 11W when he pulled into the path of an 18-wheeler hauling wood chips.
The driver of the truck, Terry Crabtree, 52, was not injured in the crash, the THP reported.
UPDATE, 3:00 p.m.
A driver was killed Thursday morning following a collision between a tractor trailer and a car in Hawkins County, an emergency official has confirmed to News 5.
The male victim was attempting to pull onto Highway 11W when the car was struck, according to EMA Director Gary Murrell.
The crash is still under investigation by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
All lanes are back open in Hawkins County following a serious two-vehicle crash in Rogersville Thursday morning.
Officials said a tractor-trailer crashed into the side of a car just after 7 a.m. on Highway 11W near the West Main Street intersection.
Emergency and police officials closed the highway to attend to those injured. The roadway was reopened just after 10 a.m., according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
