Sullivan Co. inmate captured after escape in Kingsport
A Sullivan County, Tennessee inmate facing a list of charges including three counts of statutory rape is back in custody after an escape attempt in Kingsport Tuesday morning.
Duane Doxtater, 20, now has a charge of felony escape after kicking out of one of his leg irons as he was being transported to the Kingsport Justice Center and running away from officers just after 10 a.m., a report from the Sheriff's Office said.
Doxtater was only loose for a few minutes after he was apprehended by a state child support investigator in the parking lot of the center.
His pending charges also include evading arrest, reckless endangerment, driving without a license, speeding, vandalism and violation of probation, according to the report.
