A man has admitted to stealing more than $10,000 worth of property from a resident on Big Springs Road, according to the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office.

The property owner told police Wednesday that an enclosed trailer containing numerous items, including tools and furniture was taken from his residence the day before.

The stolen items included a generator, pressure washer, table saw, and multiple sets of tools. Officers were able to find the property in the basement of a house on Cook Hollow Road.

Jason Owens, 39, admitted he stole the equipment and unloaded all the items into his basement. Owens was arrested and charged with theft of property over $10,000. He is being held on a $15,000 bond.
