Teen arrested in Morristown East student's murder

Hamblen County Sheriff Esco Jarnagin has identified the 16-year-old girl shot and killed Friday night as Tamia Clark, a student at Morristown East High School.

The sheriff said Clark was a member of the high school's band, according to a report from our sister affiliate WBIR.

19-year-old Dalton Mitchell Hodges is charged with second-degree murder in Clark's death.

Officials said Clark was found inside Hodges' Toyota Camry at Cherokee Park in Morristown just before midnight Friday.

Jarnagin said deputies believe there was an on-and-off relationship between Clark and Hodges.

Hodges is being held without bond in the Hamblen County Jail.
