Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTableThe Tennessee Highway Patrol is looking for people interested in a career as a state trooper. Agency officials tell us they prefer those applying for the job have peace officers standards and training certified police qualifications. Also, individuals who graduated from a post certified law enforcement training facility are being sought. The application submissions start online March 8. "We got more veterans out of it. People that are seasoned, basically you don't have to train them nearly as much as you do. They still have to go through the FTO program which is a ten week program but they pick up a lot faster than someone that doesn't have the experience of a police officer," said Fall Branch THP Lt. Rick Garrison.
Applicants will be interviewed in April and the training starts in August. The THP wants to hire 25 officers from this class.
