United Way of Bristol reaches its 2016-2017 fundraising goal.
BRISTOL, Tenn. - The United Way of Bristol reached its' 2016-2017 fundraising goal by the slimmest of margins.
The non-profit organization set a fundraising goal of $1,150,000 dollars for its' 2016-2017 campaign. With about a month to go, they were still about $125,000 short. But thanks to some generous donations and the hard work of the staff, the United Way was able to surpass the goal.
"It allows them to do so much for all the agencies that they're apart of," campaign chairman Mark Lucas says. "It allows them to give back to the community and it's great to see the community step forward to help us meet the goal."
They ended their campaign with $1,150,629.
