UPDATE: England to be retried for Dec. 2015 bank robbery
The suspected robber of a Greene County bank will be retried in federal court after his initial hearing ended in a mistrial last week.
New legal counsel for Timothy England, 37, along with prosecutors and Judge Ronnie Greer met Wednesday in Greeneville for a called conference and determined that the new trial will commence on August 21, according to court documents.
England was convicted by a jury for attempted escape and escape from the Washington County Detention Center last summer. He was being housed in the Jonesborough facility awaiting trial for the December 2015 robbery of the Consumer Credit Union in Mosheim. He was later captured in Royal Oak, Michigan.
He is also charged with attempting to intimidate a witness.
Also on Wednesday, the judge delayed England's sentencing date scheduled for Sept. 25.
