UPDATE: Evidence from Bristol Walmart shooting sent to TBI lab

No motive was issued Wednesday in a update report from Bristol TN police who continue to investigate a fatal shooting at a Volunteer Parkway Walmart.

The agency did say that they are "confident there is no danger to the public" as evidence evaluated so far indicates this was not a random shooting.

Michael Heatherly, 43, was killed after being shot once in the chest just after 3 p.m. in the store's parking lot. Several items collected at the scene have been sent to the TBI Crime Lab for examination, the department said.

Anyone with information on the case can call Investigator Justin Bush at (423) 989-5530 or email
